No Spoon!

Just about now, you must be thinking, "WHAT THE HECK IS KEANU REEVES DOING IN THIS BLOG POST???"

Relax... I'm here to encourage you... yes, using Neo!

Remember this scene with the child and the bending spoon?  (If you haven't seen the movie, okay, you have about 3 hours to see it and then you can come back to this post...)

...alright, where was I?  Right. Neo. Child. Spoon. Okay.

You see, this is you.  You're like Neo.

You look at the spoon.
Then you think about what you're supposed to do with the spoon.
Bend it.
You try and then you give up, "I can't do it!" you say.
So the boy says, "Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth."
You say, "What truth?"
"There is no spoon."
"There is no spoon?" (at this point, you just wanna smack the boy in the head...with the spoon!)
"You'll see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself."

Say whuuuut???

You look at all the things you need to get done: grow your business, do market research, niche down some more, get more visible on social media, get on sales calls, take the kids to soccer practice, decide on what's gonna be for dinner, etc. etc.

What do you see?  Obstacles.

So what do you automatically think of when you see obstacles?  Something that has to be overcome... and one that can be tough to overcome... or maybe one that would be just as impossible for you to overcome as it would be for you to bend spoons, right?

But the problem is that you see obstacles where there aren't any.  There are no obstacles.  Look at the all the tasks you have to accomplish but look at them again.  They're not obstacles.

Therefore, they're not what you need to overcome.

Only yourself...  You need to overcome your own thinking.
